Fluoromethamphetamine (2-FMA) is a phenethylamine and amphetamine used since around 2012. It’s a research chemical and little formal knowledge about the substance is available.

There have been comparisons between it and amphetamine and lisdexamfetamine, albeit with a lower recreational potential. 2-FMA has a primarily operational focus when it comes to 2-FMA. It is less inherently recreational than addictive for most users.

Most people don’t find it necessary to exceed 40-50 mg. When stimulation increases and duration extends, the possibility of negative effects increases.

It is largely a functional/productive stimulant rather than a euphoric and inherently recreational drug. According to many users, it is helpful for productivity and relatively free of negative physical effects. There’s no “pushy” tone to it.

Users describe the effects as “calm.” They find they can get the stimulation they need without feeling like they’re on a stimulant. People don’t usually overflow with energy to the point that sitting down to work is difficult, which can occur with certain stimulants.

While you may be happier while on the drug, it’s not very euphoric, even though it can offer an increase in motivation, becoming incredibly happy regardless of what you’re working on isn’t as common.

Chemistry

2-FMA is a substituted amphetamine. It’s a member of a group of fluorinated amphetamine derivatives, which also features substances like 2-FA and 4-FA.

Pharmacology

There is no research on its mechanism, so we do not know how it works. We can guess that it functions as a reuptake inhibitor and release agent, especially for dopamine and norepinephrine.

There could potentially be other actions, such as VMAT2T2 and TAAR1.

History

August 2007

In Australia, four capsules were delivered to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Various brand names were used to sell capsules filled with drugs manufactured by Neorganics, an Israeli company.

Neorganics’ Sub Coca 2 product seemed to match one of the capsules. Upon examination, it was found to contain 2-FMA and a-phthalimidopropiophenone.

2013

It was reported to the EMCDDA only once before 2013 (in 2012).

Most user reports have appeared from 2013 onward, though it was on the market before then.

September 2013 – June 2015

Of 162 seized drug samples analyzed in Italy, 2-FMA was found in only a couple, making it quite uncommon.

2017

2-FMA is still on the market, but it hasn’t become one of the top research chemicals.

Safety

It isn’t easy to estimate the drug’s safety, especially when used long-term. Because not much is known about it, it is difficult to make predictions. The drug should be taken at standard doses, infrequently, and without combining it with other drugs.

People have primarily expressed concerns about cardiovascular health and kidney health. Healthy people shouldn’t have a problem using common doses infrequently.

Overdose

There aren’t any formal overdose cases to go on. However, 2-FMA could conceivably lead to hyperstimulation, anxiety, cardiovascular issues, and a higher seizure risk if enough is used.
